DIGITAL APPLICATIONS FOR ORTHOGNATHIC SURGERY
Virtual surgical planning and 3D printing have become the new standard for modern orthognathic and Maxillofacial surgery with significant advantages over traditional planning method such as better planning visualization, improved accuracy and superior prognosis and assistance for difficult cases. Combined with the development of open-source softwares, the virtual planning solution for orthognathic and Maxillofacial surgery is now ready to use without any cost. However, mastering those softwares are still a burden for surgeons who are often busy with their clinical work. The aim of this program is to offer hands-on training in how to use OrtogonBlender software for orthognathic and Maxillofacial surgery planning as well as cutting guide design. The basic principles of orthognathic plus reconstructive surgery will also revisited. After this workshop, the learners should be able to:
- Understand the indications and contra-indications of orthognathic surgery
- Describe the techniques of common orthognathic and Maxillofacial trauma procedures
- Make a basic surgical planning for orthogthic and Maxillofacial trauma patient
- Prepare the dataset for virtual surgical planning
- Perform basic planning with OrtogonBlender software
